Surf Lifesaving NSW and the Bureau of Meteorology have put out warnings for strong winds with swell heights of up to four metres offshore.
Swimmers, surfers, rock fisherman and boaters are advised to be cautious when in the water.
A dominant north easterly swell on Saturday is likely to be replaced by south easterly swell during Sunday of 11-12 second swell periods, according to Life Saving NSW.
This is likely to affect all beaches and rock platforms from the Mid North Coast of NSW down to Victoria, resulting in large, messy surf conditions.
“The best advice we can give people is to be aware of the changing conditions. Take the time to get the latest weather forecast before heading out and let others know what your plans are," NSW Lifesaving Manager Andy Kent said.
