The funding is the largest to date from the NSW Premier and is being put towards the party, already supported by McDonald’s Illawarra, and for toys that will be handed out to children such as KidzWish child ambassadors Samantha Atkin and Larnee Attwell.
The party on November 24 at the WEC from 10am is for Illawarra and South Coast children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability and their carers.
“It (supporting kids with special needs) is something I have been championing since I have been the local member,” Mr Ward said.
“Because of the great work KidzWish do supporting families in need we want to ensure we keep this Christmas party going each year and this year the Premier has dug a little bit deeper”.
KidzWish executive director Chris Beaven said she was thrilled with this support from the NSW Government.
She said it will be a great help because the cost of the toys total to $40,000.
