The 20-year-old younger brother of Canberra wrecking ball Joey Leilua enjoyed an outstanding 2016 campaign with the Dragons NYC side and forced his way into the top grade, playing five games after debuting against Brisbane in round 22.
It’s seen a number of clubs make a pitch for the off-contract young-gun’s services with the Bulldogs and Sharks both linked to the Hurstville United junior. He is yet to sign a deal for the 2017 season but he’s returned to the Dragons to begin preseason training as negotiations to keep him in Wollongong continue.
“We’re still working through things with Luc and his family,” recruitment chief Ian Millward said.
“He’s a player that we’ve obviously targetted and want to retain. We’re in negotiations and they’re ongoing and hopefully down the track we can conclude them.”
