Tighe finished at six-under for the tournament after firing a two-under 70 on the final day at Royal Sydney.
It left him in a tie-for-14th – six shots off the leading trio who needed a playoff to split them on Sunday.
American superstar Jordan Spieth was triumphant on the first playoff hole in a three-way battle with Australian’s Ashley Hall and Cameron Smith.
Meanwhile, Shellharbour rising star Travis Smyth had a strong debut at the tournament.
The amateur finished in a tie-for-28th at four-under after shooting one-over 73 in the fourth round. He was the second among all amateurs.
Port’s Jordan Zunic finished his week on a high note with a three-under 69 to finish at one-under.
The former New Zealand Open winner was in a tie-for-44th.
