Minnamurra local Timothy Bowen has been inspiring people around the world lately, not just with his original alternative folk music but also with his incredible courage and true blue fighting spirit.
After an Australian tour last year supporting the Milk Carton Kids, Tim received some terrible news. Just before Christmas Tim was diagnosed with end stage lymphoma and was given about two weeks to live.
Incredibly though, after more than 700 hours of chemotherapy, five lumbar punctures, eight procedures and heart surgery, Tim got the “all clear”.
Tim even recently went on a trip to Nashville to see his sister Clare who is one of the main actors in hit TV show Nashville. He joined Clare and her fiancé Brandon on stage a few times and performed at Charles Esten’s Light the Night charity night which raises funds and awareness for the same disease Tim had just been cleared of.
“To be able to walk around, still play guitar, sing and, quite honestly, just to be living is such a blessing and a beautiful gift,” Tim said.
Not only is Tim an inspiration but his music is amazing. See Tim live at Brighton Up Bar in Sydney on December 21 and keep an eye out for a possible Wollongong show before the end of the year.
