Aceit was one of the 78 other finalists in the 2016 awards and impressed the judges after securing a lucrative three-year contract to supply lawn bowls uniforms to the England team.
Managing director Gino Arcella said that was one of many interesting contracts that helped the business compete on the world stage.
Aceit supplies work and sporting uniforms and promotional materials to many organisations such as the AFL, Basketball NSW and Western Sydney Academy of Sport.
“It’s a proud moment that, after 25 years working in the Illawarra, we’re at this point, beating some really big businesses in the export game,” Mr. Arcella said.
“This is especially important to us at this time because of how much growth and competition there is at the moment in the Illawarra.”
“With some of Australia’s largest businesses now here and so many people being drawn to the area, there is a lot more opportunity and sense of potential.”
Mr Arcella’s advise for cracking the export market was for other businesses interested in doing so to look for areas in their business that can be expand to add value to customers.
He said it was also important to invest in staff training and empowerment.
Aceit’s latest follows a recent gong at the Illawarra Business Awards when it took out the Excellence in Export category.
