A third monkey stolen from a wildlife park in Helensburgh at the weekend has been located safe and well in Tahmoor, Monday night.

The monkey, an adult male Pygmy Marmoset named Gomez, was left in a box on the front doorstep of a vet clinic on York Street.

Police were called about 8.30pm and found the monkey alive and well.

Arrangements were being made to return the monkey to Symbio Wildlife Park later Monday.

Detectives from Wollongong Local Area Command will continue with their investigations into the theft of the monkeys.

Monday night's discovery came after Campbelltown brothers Jackson and Jesse George appeared before Campbelltown Local Court, charged with attempting to sell one of the stolen monkeys.
