A surfer has been bitten by a shark and his surfboard snapped in two at a beach south of Forster on Thursday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to Seven Mile Beach at Booti Point about 9.20am to reports that a man had been injured.
Police said the 65-year-old man suffered bite wounds to his arm and foot, but was able to swim to shore to raise the alarm.
A large chunk was bitten out of his surfboard, which was also snapped in half.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the man suffered a deep cut to his foot. He was reported to be conscious at the scene, and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue helicopter flew the man to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
"Due to the incident, Seven Mile Beach will be closed until further notice," police said in a statement.
Officers from Manning/Great Lake Local Area Command are working with officers from the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries to determine the species of shark responsible for the bite.
