Eagles clinch Premier League squash comp

Eagles maintained their dominance of Illawarra Premier League mens squash with a tough grand final triumph over Raptors at Dapto Squash Centre.

Eagles made it back-to-back titles in 2016 with a two rubbers to one, (8 games to four) victory.

Eagles beat Superoos to  win the Autumn Pennant and now have both crowns for 2016.

 Raptors beat Eagles in the grand final 12 months ago to win the 2015 Spring Pennant, while Eagles have been the strongest club in the top mens comp for the past five years.

In the latest grand final, Eagles No 2 Colin Watego beat Gavin Borg three games to one (59-41)  and Eagles John Mabon beat Aaron Oswald 3-0 (45-28) in the battle of the number threes.

Raptors No 1 Ray Payne beat Eagles Troy Mountford 3-2 (63-46).

The 2017 Autumn comp will start in February and run through to June with officials always keen to build on the five teams in Premier League.
