The Shoalhaven Heads trainer had Louis’ Choice and Yama Magic both salute at his home track.
Louis’ Choice, ridden by Scott Pollard, edged out Chris Hensler’s Jayko by a neck in the Southern Stones Bar & Rockgrill Benchmark 55 Handicap (1600m), with Natalie Jarvis’ Millijule a further 2-¼ lengths back.
Brendan Ward then piloted Yama Magic to victory by a long neck over Peter Korn’s Byblos Boy, with Gary Portelli’s Freedom Fighter in third.
Kembla trainer Theresa Bateup continued her stable’s scintillating run of form when Giant’s Daughter made it a hat-trick of successes under the urging of Jess Taylor in the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens Club Class 3 Handicap (1400m). Sydney trainers also fared well on the card.
Con Karakatsanis claimed the opening event with De Kurnell while Mark Newnham and Matthew Smith also had winners.
Canberra trainer Gratz Vella ensured his trip out was worthwhile as Time In Motion prevailed in the Robert Oatley Wines Maiden Handicap (1100m) for fillies and mares.
