ILLAWARRA have until 12pm Thursday to respond to an “unreasonable contact” charge levelled at hard-nosed guard Kevin White following the Hawks’ 95-91 win over New Zealand in Auckland on Friday.

The charge arose from an incident early in the first quarter when White, in possession, made accidental contact with the face of Breakers guard David Stockton. The NBL game review panel determined that the contact was “careless” and “low impact” but still hit White with a base penalty of a $500 fine that can be reduced to $375 with an early guilty plea.
The charge came after New Zealand requested that the NBL review the incident. It’s a system that’s sparked controversy this season with Brisbane forward Daniel Kickert lashing Adelaide as the “thirtysnitchers” on twitter after he was cited for headbutting in round seven.
