The former Chicago Bull picked up his fifth in the opening minute of the fourth quarter and was forced to watch on as Illawarra prevailed 99-88.
Bairstow played just a touch under 10 minutes in the round 10 clash.
He had six points.
Brisbane struggled with fouls all evening as Illawarra shot 32 foul shots to their 12.
"I'm not quite sure why that's happening because I feel like we attack the rim," Bullets coach Andrej Lemanis said.
"They shot more threes than us, offensive rebounds is the same, so I'm not sure why that continues to happen but unfortunately it's a consistent thing at the moment.
"Cameron Bairstow fouls out at nine minutes 50, so that impacts the game as well.”
Brisbane and Illawarra meet again next Monday.
