Swimmers have been cleared from the water off Hyams Beach at Jervis Bay after seven sharks were seen lurking nearby on Saturday morning.

The juvenile great white sharks, all about 2.5 metres long, were spotted 50 metres off the beach by an aerial surveillance helicopter.
An alert was issued via the NSW Department of Primary Industries’ SharkSmart Twitter account at 11.58am.
The alert said swimmers had been removed from the water and authorities alerted to the sharks’ presence.
