To help welcome the 4,200 passengers and 1200 crew on the giant cruise liner Destination Wollongong is calling on locals to share a photo of the ship or heir favourite Wollongong spot or activity using the hashtag #cruisewollongong.
That will link all the images to the Destination Wollongong Facebook page to welcome passengers on Tuesday.
General manager Mark Sleigh said Destination Wollongong will also be capturing the best moments of the arrival day on its Facebook and Instagram pages and are inviting locals to do the same using #cruisewollongong.
The best vantage points for viewing the ship 6.30am on December 27 will be Flagstaff Hill as well as Mount Keira and Bald Hill, which both have newly opened cafes that will be operating on the day.
As the ship departs at 5pm, Flagstaff Hill, the newly opened Headlands Austinmer or anywhere along the northern coastline will be a good position, according to Destination Wollongong chair Tania Brown.
By sharing your photos of Voyager of the Seas using #cruisewollongong and by posting to the Destination Wollongong Facebook page, locals have a chance to win a great prize of a night's accommodation at the newly opened Headlands Austinmer*. The best picture using #cruisewollongong will be announced and winner notified on December 28.
Voyager of the Seas is almost twice the size of Radiance of the Seas and will return to the region on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
