Sean Francis Gaffney was refused bail at Nowra Local Court after being charged with attempted murder and firearm charges.
Police allege Gaffney, 53, demanded entry to a closed retail store on the Princes Highway at Milton where a man and two women were working about 10pm on Tuesday.
The store owner, 35, refused him entry and it’s alleged Gaffney then punched the man and pointed a gun at him.
The shop owner told police the trigger was pulled but the gun did not fire, before the two men became involved in a physical altercation where the shop owner was able to gain control of the weapon
Shoalhaven police attended the store and recovered the loaded revolver.
Following inquiries, police arrested Gaffney at a home on Curtis Street in Ulladulla. During the arrest Gaffney suffered a seizure and was taken to hospital under police guard.
He was later released and taken to Ulladulla Police Station and charged with attempt to discharge loaded arms at a person with intent to murder, possess loaded firearm in a public place, possess unregistered firearm in a public place and possess unauthorised firearm.
He was refused bail to appear at Nowra District Court on January 13.
