Hawks address issues with talk

The Illawarra Hawks had a simple solution to addressing the obvious problems in their disappointing 32-point defeat to Adelaide last Thursday night.

“We talked and talked and talked. I think that is pretty much all we [did] since we finished the game,” centre AJ Ogilvy said.

Leading 2-0 against the 36ers in their season-long series, the Hawks were outclassed in a 117-85 loss in Adelaide.

It provided Illawarra with added fuel to bounce back against Melbourne United on Saturday, according to Ogilvy.

“We are all proud people. We are professional athletes. We don’t like losing,” he said.

“We especially don’t like losing the way we did in Adelaide so I think everyone had a chip on their shoulder [against Melbourne].

“I know especially came out and was not going to let that same thing happen again.”

The Hawks torched Melbourne 106-88 less than 48 hours later at WIN Entertainment Centre.
