When combined with UNILAD’s social media channel there were over 38 million combined views.
Add on to that the 2.3 million views and over 74,000 likes/reactions on Tourism Australia’s Facebook page and the reach went past 40 million views even before The Project broadcast the video on Tuesday night this week.
Global media coverage included Fox News, BBC Worldwide, Good Morning America and CNN.
The butterfly had a ball and now it is Symbio general manager Matt Radnidge and marketing manager Kevin Fallon’s turn.
They will fly out this month to accept their award at the G’Day USA LA gala event presented by Qantas where they are likely to rub shoulders with celebrities such as Hugh Jackman, Keith Urban, John Travolta, Nicole Kidman and Chris Hemsworth who appears in a new Tourism Australia campaign about Australia not just being a place you see but a place you feel.
Mr Fallon said the honour came as part of the G’day USA campaign showcasing Australia’s capability and enhancing the long-term relationship with the US.
It was also an opportunity to cement Symbio and Wollongong’s place on the international tourist map.
