The injury-hit Bullets have been on a downward spiral since losing to the Hawks in overtime three weeks ago, a loss that also cost them star forward Cam Bairstow for the season with an ACL tear. Veteran forward Anthony Petrie is also out for the season but Lemanis still believes his side is a finals chance despite a tough run home.
“We’ve just got to keep building from here,” Lemanis said after Monday’s loss to Perth.
“The season’s coming down to crunch stage now and we need to come out, keep playing well and giving ourselves a chance to win basketball games.
“This is still in our hands. We have control of our own destiny at the moment. We’re going to have to go on the road and win some games, there’s no doubt, but we can determine the outcome of the way the rest of the season goes.”
