Bull and Byrne pay homage to King’s album Tapestry, which celebrates its 45th anniversary, at Anita’s Theatre on February 11.
Bull said even she was surprised to learn how many hits King created or co-created like “Natural Woman”, “I Feel the Earth Move”, “Locomotion” and “One Fine Day”.
“I wasn’t a real Carole King fan, it wasn’t I started looking into her for the show I became a massive fan and jeepers creepers the woman is amazing,” she said.
The last time Bull was in Thirroul was for her portrayal of soul diva Etta James.
“They’re legends and I don’t think we should forget them,” she said.
“Carole hasn’t passed, thank God, but she’s still performing today and has had a really long career … people should take their hat off to people who have been working since the ‘50s and are still writing and performing.”
