Offshore the marlin and dolphin fish continued to thicken with the FADs holding plenty of legal sized dollies but also heaps of rat sized kingfish.
The bigger bull and cow dollies have been a bit cagey but they are there, you just need to work out a pattern to get them to bite.
Maybe livies in the vicinity of the FADs and drift around.
The biggest dollies to come off the Wollongong FADs so far have been between the 12kg and 15kg range with a couple of bigger bulls coming from the south Sydney FADs.
Bandit Trap and Wollongong are holding some good numbers of small stripes and black marlin if you can get your livies past the hoards of seals around at the moment.
Snapper have been a little bit quiet this week but there are still some good fish about.
There have been some cracking fish coming from some quite deep water of 90-100 metres depth but inshore there has been plenty of tasty pan sized fish landed.
As happens every year the local harbours and bays are alive with small frigate mackerel and bonito chasing the hoards of whitebait that are present at the moment.
These are great fun for the kids on school holidays and are a visual feast for the eyes as they zoom into the local harbours devouring everything if their wake.
To catch these speed freaks all you need is a lightly weighted soft plastic or small metal slug to imitate a whitebait.
Wait for the schools to speed into view and cast in front of them and hang on.
Bellambi, Wollongong and Port harbours were thick with them earlier in the week and were a sight to behold, even to a non fisho.
Beaches again continue to fish well for bream and whiting with the odd big flathead thrown in the mix.
Mulloway are about but more on the smallish size but still great fun to target.
