And, nothing gives her more pleasure than running JL Dance studio and constantly striving to inspire her students.
It’s a small ‘’boutique’’ dance school in Dapto but Miss Buckley and her fellow instructors always encourage their students to dream big and enjoy their dance journey.
That’s why Miss Buckley is organising a dance trip to Los Angeles – but it’s not your run of the mill dance trip.
“I’ve worked with our travel agent to personalise the trip to create an opportunity of a lifetime for our students who would like to travel to the US and experience dance in another country,’’ she said.
“The aim for the whole trip is to take 10 to 15 children [aged six to 15] from JL Dance to create memories that they can treasure forever.
“I can guarantee they will treasure these memories just as I did when I was younger.
“It was the most amazing experience that I’ve ever experienced in my whole dance journey. It really is an eye-opening experience for dancers.’’
Miss Buckley was 18 when she went with fellow dance school students to LA.

“I decided to stay an extra four weeks and intentionally went to the workshops at the Edge [Dance Studio] and Millennium [Dance Complex] and took advantage of this opportunity to enhance my own personal growth as a dancer,’’ she said.
Ten years down the track and now running her own dance school, Miss Buckley wants to offer a similar “amazing’’ experience to her own students.
“It’s all about the students and for them to be inspired by the dance art form in another country,’’ she said.
“They will have a chance to meet and greet professional dancers and choreographers and perform in Disney World [Orlando] – the happiest place on earth.’’
The LA trip is slated for January, 2018. A number of fundraisers have been held, including barbecues and discos, with a lawn bowls day also on the radar.
“We are calling on companies and corporations to get involved and sponsor the kids to get to go to this ultimate dance experience,’’ Miss Buckley said.
