Vanessa O’Hanlon grew up in Melbourne but has spent the last eight years as ABC News Breakfast’s weather presenter on national television.
“We have a full team of journos, camera-people and editors here. The new bulletin will from 6pm to 7pm. I just want it to start. I am getting very very excited. We have got all this brand new technology we are using,” she said.
Vanessa’s visit to Wollongong was a case of returning to familiar territory on Friday. She last visited the city two years ago, loves the beaches and is a big fan of South Coast food and wine.
Her career started in regional radio and that career took her from Alice Springs to Shepparton and Darwin before returning to Melbourne for television. She recently moved to Sydney where she will present a mix of regional and national news for the NINE Network in several markets including the Illawarra/South Coast and ACT.
Vanessa had this message for the Illawarra.
“Please come and join us. This is a very exciting brand new project we are working on. We will incorporate not only local news but national and international plus sport and weather. You will get it all in one comprehensive bulletin. It will be of a very high standard. We are very excited”.
