Lauren McWatters was arrested at 3:30pm on Saturday, charged with two counts of possessing a firearm. She appeared in Wollongong Local Court on Sunday.
In police document tendered in the court a search warrant was issued for a house on Trumper Street on September 22.
Police allege McWatters, who confirmed she was living at the residence, was visibly upset and denied any knowledge of the items they were searching for.
A loaded Bentley 12 gauge shotgun was seized along with ammunition, drugs, drug paraphernalia and a mobile phone.
The gun was allegedly found stashed under a tallboy in a child’s bedroom.
Police prosecutor Shannon Ryan agreed McWatters should be released on conditional bail.
The young mother will appear at Port Kembla Local Court on January 25.
