About 4.15am, two men allegedly forced entry to the business on Shellharbour Road.
After the alarm went off, officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and located two men – aged 23 and 28 – within the building.
As the men were being arrested, the 28-year-old man allegedly resisted police and pushed a male senior constable, causing him to fall backwards.
The officer sustained abrasions to his arms and hands.
The men were taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where the younger man was charged with aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence in company.
The older man was taken to Shellharbour Hospital under police guard.
He was later released and charged with aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence in company, assaulting an officer in execution of duty, and resisting an officer in execution of duty.
They were both refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Monday.
