Grant and his nipper Mitchell Bonner were smiling too with a trip down to Jervis Bay scoring them a bag of flathead to 5.5kg, five bream totalling 2.7kg with one flatty weighing 3.1kg.
Rod Brown and Rod Kent fished offshore near Stanwell Park for a few reddies, the largest 1.1kg and a flatty of 90g, and Julie and Wayne Beaveridge fished Lake Illawarra with Julie bagging flathead for the table.
"Towradgi Boys" fished Ulladulla for a successful weekend with 10 flatties each with Geoff Dryland claiming the largest at 1.1kg.
Paul Hansen and Fred Tagg waited patiently to use the Bellambi Boat ramp but could only catch a few little bits and pieces. Freddie was heard to say that a day on the water is still better than a day at work.
Jared O’Hara won mystery fish award with his tarwhine from off Towradgi and also took home the seafood tray raffled at the pub.
Barrel draw, B.R.E and Highest Points went to Grant Bonner that made him smile even more and Mitch picked up the junior section.
Members of Shellharbour Game are finalising the long list of prizes as their annual game fishing tournament draws nearer.
