The men – who police say are all members or close associates of the Lone Wolf OMCG – were arrested during an early-morning raids in Coniston, Figtree and Port Kembla.
Investigators seized Lone Wolf OMCG colours, clothing, knuckledusters, steroids, and mobile phones.
The men were taken to Wollongong and Oak Flats police stations.
A 29-year-old Coniston man was charged with affray, and participating in a criminal group.
A Port Kembla man, 29, was charged with affray and participating in a criminal group.
A 39-year-old Coniston man was charged with affray, participating in a criminal group, and four counts of possessing a prohibited weapon.
A 40-year-old Coniston man was charged with affray and participating in a criminal group.
A 44-year-old Figtree man was charged with affray and participating in a criminal group.
All five have been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on March 14.
Investigations are continuing.
1.30pm: Five men linked to the South Coast chapter of the Lone Wolf Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) have been arrested after an investigation into a brawl at a North Wollongong nightspot late last year.
Police were called to reports of a brawl at Pepe’s on the Beach, on Cliff Road, about 10.15pm on December 23.
Officers were told up to seven men were fighting at the location, throwing chairs and glasses.
Five of the men fled the location before police arrived.
No one was seriously injured, but the incident did force the closure of the licensed venue.
A crime scene was set up and police spoke with a number of patrons following the melee. CCTV footage was also reviewed.
Wollongong detectives and investigators from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor launched an investigation into the incident.
The investigation led police to homes at Figtree, Coniston and Port Kembla – where five searches were conducted about 6am on Wednesday.
The search warrants were executed by Strike Force Raptor investigators, with assistance from the Public Order and Riot Squad and the National Anti-Gangs Squad’s Sydney strike team.
Five men – aged 39, 40, 44, and two aged 29 – who police say are all members or close associates of the Lone Wolf OMCG, were arrested during the operation.
They were taken to Wollongong Police Station, where they are expected to be charged with affray and participating in a criminal group.
Investigations are ongoing.
