Ms Lauri, 45, is responsible for 16 newsrooms delivering local news bulletins across the WIN Network as well as the All Australian News across Australia. She has fulfilled every dream since starting her career as a cadet reporter at WIN TV in 1993 after graduating from University of Wollongong. She rose to the position of chief-of-staff in Wollongong before working with Nine National News in Sydney.

Her goal for all the regional news services she now oversees is to give viewers the broadest and most in-depth local coverage of events and issues in their local area.
WIN Network chief executive Andrew Lancaster said Ms Lauri has been a tireless advocate for the community and a journalist with a strong sense of news value.
Mr Lancaster said it was great to have someone with such valuable news experience who has worked on stories of national and international importance such as the Waterfall train disaster, the Cronulla, Redfern and Macquarie Fields riots as well as the Bali bombings.
He said she has all the credentials to oversee professional news teams offering a comprehensive news a more competitive regional news market.
“She has been mentored by some of the most highly respected journalists in the business,” Mr Lancaster said.
“Stella is well qualified to take WIN News into the future and deliver the style of strong, relevant half hour local bulletins that WIN News is renowned for.”
Ms Lauri described her new role as a culmination of all she has worked towards and done since deciding what career she wanted as a teenager.
“Regional news is incredibly important as it keeps communities informed about what is going on in their backyard and targets issues specifically relevant to their everyday lives,” she said.
“WIN News has always been serious about delivering the local stories that matter and having strong ties to the communities it serves. Being able to oversee the direction and delivery of local news to so many communities is both an honour and a challenge and I look forward to embracing the opportunity.”
Ms Lauri said WIN News had been around for 50 years and she felt privileged to have been part of it for 25.
She said delivering a half hourly local news bulletin every night was not as easy as it looked. There is considerable work involved by a number of people.
But she loves her job and delivering such an important service to every community the network serves in regional Australia.
