Woonona Womens Bowling Club had winners on and off the green with their massive charity to support  those suffering autism and people living with severe head injuries.

The club presented a cheque for $4500 to Bruce Rowles from Aspect Autistic School at Corrimal and also $4500 to Rebecca Parnis from Headway following the big charity bowls day.

In 11 years of support the Woonona Women’s club have raised $34,000 to Aspect Autistic School and since 2010 more than $32,000 has been raised for Headway.

The day features raffles, lucky tips and a trading table, plus a very popular game of bowls.

In hot, muggy conditions the day featured 22 fours teams from Thirroul in the north to Warilla in Illawarra’s South.

A Bellambi team survived the heat to be the overall winner, with a Windang team the runners-up, but the biggest winner was two charities and the valuable service the provide.
