Again fully sponsored by K & R Fabrication at Unanderra, the prize list is extensive and a huge thanks to the many other sponsors including Lamond Contracting, Shimano and Fergos Tackle World, Spice Tech Technology and Warilla Bowling Club.
On Saturday, entrants can elect to compete in a $4000 cash shootout run in conjunction with the tournament and hopefully the incomplete and pathetic ramp conditions at Cowrie Island can cope with the huge number of boats already entered.
The emphasis and prize list has been loaded towards tag & release rather than capture to reflect the Shellharbour Game club’s positive attitude towards preservation of fish stocks and conservation of most pelagic species.
In saying that, anglers will weigh the occasional capture in for potential records or for personal achievement.

Don’t forget Compleat Angler Illawarra’s $5000 fishing challenge where the February target species are tailor and dolphinfish (mahi-mahi).
On the fishing front, a shop customer reported there were some huge tailor in the washes around the Port islands on Wednesday.
Still good catches of blue swimmer crabs in the lake using both dillys and pots but watch their size.
DPI/Fisheries have advised the Port Macquarie (10) FAD has been replaced, however the Narooma one has dragged 4 nm south but will soon be relocated to its correct location.
