The Frasers Property Shell Cove development is up for two nominations: Best Master Planned Community and Best Residential Development.
While Stockland Shellharbour, which boasts the largest array of solar panels in the country, is battling against developments in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for the Best Sustainable Development (existing building) award.
Property Council Regional Director for the Illawarra Kim Rawson said these projects reflect the local environment and meets community needs and services.
“The Illawarra is on a trajectory of success – award winning development is enriching the region and brings with it jobs for the local community, new homes and a cleaner environment,” Ms Rawson said.
“What we also need to focus on is a greater investment in local infrastructure and services.
“The Illawarra region is growing and with a greater connection to south west Sydney, investment in services and infrastructure is needed to support development.”
