In our busy lifestyle there is always a battle on what to eat when you are on the go.

For a healthy metabolism, snacking throughout the day is important. We should be snacking with the healthy foods, containing the right amount of protein and carbohydrates.

Foods best to snack on include:

Nuts: including almonds, walnuts and brazil nuts;

Fruit: bananas, apples, oranges, blueberries etc;

Canned fish: tuna, salmon, herring;

Natural Greek yoghurt;

Home-made hummus with carrot and celery sticks;

Natural protein powder with water.

Snacking fires up our metabolism which in turn burns more calories whilst we rest. Snacking on healthy foods also stops us from having unhealthy options, especially before and after dinner. All it takes is good choices and a bit of preparation to keep your snack choices healthy.
