South Coast Labour Council secretary Arthur Rorris said those present would be calling on Mr Ward and his government to shelve plans to part-privatise the facility.
‘’The ‘love-in’ tomorrow is in keeping with the day. The nurses and other health workers wanted to make their point creatively, but very sincerely,’’ he said.
‘’They’ve got a message straight from the heart and that is that if Gareth Ward truly wants to make a difference then (he must) convince the new premier and health minister that this privatisation track is no good.’’
Mr Ward has set up a meeting with Minister Brad Hazzard and staff on Thursday to discuss concerns.
