So celebrating World Radio Day on Monday was a ‘’no brainer’’, according to station manager Gino Rikhye.
A number of listeners dropped by to celebrate the day and met up with presenters and volunteers who help keep Illawarra’s community radio station alive.
VOX has over 22 non English language shows which are enjoyed locally and abroad. It also does more than 40 English language presentations during the week encompassing genres like rock and roll, popular and heavy metal.
‘’Radio is still the most dynamic, reactive and engaging medium there is, adapting to 21st century changes and offering new ways to interact and participate,’’ Rikhye said.
‘’Where social media and audience fragmentation can put us in media bubbles of like-minded people, radio is uniquely positioned to bring communities together and foster positive dialogue for change.’’
