For forty years the radio station has been dishing up breakfast to raise money for local charities, with Rotary also on board for most of that time.
Wave FM senior account manager and event organiser Rob Webb said he’d ordered 170 kilograms of bacon, 4000 sausages, 4000 eggs and 180 loaves of bread for the morning which would see proceeds go to the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.
Last year they raised nearly $10,000 for the charity, with hope to do the same though Mr Webb admitted the recent storms may have scared some people away.
Over the past few years they’ve managed to minimise as much waste as possible with the help of Green Connect and Wollongong City Council.
Station manager Tony Williams said it was great to see so many volunteers turn up to help make it a great day.
