Mr Hamilton vowed to make a difference to other peoples lives after surviving a stroke eight years ago.
He made good on that promise a few years back, when he walked from Seacliff Bridge to Windang Bridge as a fundraiser for the children’s charity.
Now every year Mr Hamilton leads the walk along the 42-kilometre track, which kicked off at 6am.
Some walkers chose to do the entire course while others chose specific legs, like KidzWish ambassador Kiara Risku who joined in for the final leg from Warrawong to Windang.
On Sunday, KidzWish spokesman Karouna Michael said the event was on its way to raising close to $15,000.
Participants were treated to a free family fun day at Club Windang post event.
All funds raised go towards helping Illawarra families with kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability.
