Not only were his Illawarra side able to keep their NBL title hopes alive for 2016-17, it was also the second-year coach’s 250th NBL game in charge.
While Beveridge preferred to focus on the achievements of his players post-game, he was pleased to be able to mark the occasion with a win.
“It was nice to win on a milestone like that as well,” he said.
“I will have a quiet red [wine] later on and reflect on 250 games. The heartache and the ups and downs. And everything like that.”
Beveridge has a winning record of 138 wins and 112 losses over his 250 game career to date.
Thirty three of those have come during his first two season with Illawarra, who he has successfully guided to back-to-back playoff appearances.
Beveridge can add another win to his tally on Thursday in Adelaide.
