ADELAIDE star Jerome Randle lit a fire underneath his side’s semi-final series against Illawarra when he labeled the Hawks a “dirty” team prior to game one but it appears that the 36ers are certainly no angels in the eyes of the NBL game review panel.

While there were no immediate charges that arose out of Adelaide’s 93-78 win over the Hawks in game one a review of the clash saw 36ers big man Eric Jacobsen hit with a striking charge for an incident involving back-up hawks centre Michael Holyfield.
The GRP hit Jacobsen with a striking charge on Tuesday, classifying the contact with Holyfield as “intentional, low impact with body contact” and hitting the Arizona State alum with a $500 fine. Should Jacobsen accept an early guilty plea, the fine will be reduced to $375.
The GRP also cited Hawks centre AJ Ogilvy for his tangle with Daniel Johnson with just over two minute remaining in game two in Wollongong on Sunday. Ogilvy was hit with a tripping charge for the incident, missed by officials, that drew the ire of 36ers fans who felt an unsportsmanlike foul, and two pivotal free-throws, was warranted.
Like Jacobsen, Ogilvy was also hit with a $500 fine for the offence deemed “intentional, low impact and body contact” which can be reduced to $375 if he accepts the early guilty plea. Both clubs have until 5pm Wednesday to respond to the charges.
