Earlier this month, police received reports a teacher had developed an inappropriate relationship with a girl at the school.
An investigation by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad led to the arrest of a 25-year-old man at Wollongong Police Station about 6pm on Tuesday.
Police will allege the man developed a relationship with the student online and organised to meet with her outside of school hours to have sex.
He was charged and refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday.
