Two 20-year-old men accused of bashing a Good Samaritan outside Gwynneville’s Omar Mosque last month have been identified in court as Bailey King and David Piper.

King, from Mangerton, and Piper, from Gwynneville, are charged with a combined seven offences including one count each of recklessly causing grievous bodily harm stemming from the January 28 incident, which left 39-year-old Mt St Thomas father Abdul-Latif Abdul-Latif in hospital.
It is alleged Mr Abdul-Latif was attacked after coming to the aid of three international students who were allegedly being harassed and assaulted by King and Piper outside the Foley Street mosque just after 9pm.
It is alleged one of the students suffered a broken arm during the incident which happened just minutes after the trio left the mosque.
Piper and King were arrested about half an hour later, at 9.35pm.
Lawyers for the two men entered pleas of not guilty to all charges during a brief mention of their cases in court on Tuesday.
The pair remain on bail, which includes having no contact with each other and not going within 500 metres of the mosque.
Their cases will return to court on April 4.
