It was the spot the 26-year-old Bulli man, known affectionately as ‘Izzy’ to those close to him, loved to surf.
It’s also close to where Isaac was farewelled following his unexpected death, caused by a dissecting aortic aneurysm, last month.
Now, his family and friends have devised a plan to have a stairway to the surf spot named in his honour.
“That’s where he started to surf,” Isaac’s brother, Joshua, told the Mercury. “Him and my younger brother, Adam; they spent day in, day out going up and down those particular stairs going to the surf.”
A change.org petition has called for Wollongong City Council to name the stairway off Blackall Street, near Beach Street, after Isaac.
It’s hoped the recognition will occur before June 7, Isaac’s birthday.
