Masoe suffered a season-ending ACL tear on the eve of the 2016 season and is yet to debut or play a single trial for the club he joined from the UK Super League at the end of 2015.
He underwent a second round of surgery early in the preseason which put him in doubt for the opening rounds of 2017 but is now in full training mode and ready to play if required.
“He’s on track for round one,” club performance head Nathan Pickworth said.
“Mose has now completed about a week and a half of full unrestricted training. The couple of weeks before that were still pretty intense but we’ve completely taken the shackles off him and exposed him to everything he’ll get exposed to in a game.
“Touch wood everything goes well in the next eight days because he’s had a pretty tough 18 months but he’s on track for round one.
