Gratitude is the focus for Holy Spirit College in 2017. Everyone has a great deal to be thankful for in every aspect of their lives. Every day, world news is overflowing with stories of famine, drought and war. Australia faces challenges, however none as great as refugees who struggle to find a place to call home.
The college’s staff and students’ attitude of gratitude must permeate everything they do and say, as well as how they act. This is the foundation stone of the college’s Marist and Josephite traditions, and forms its pastoral care and peer support programs, immersion experiences and all aspects of college life.

Students and teachers must take this attitude to the classroom, the playground and their own learning experiences. It is the expectations that guide students to become citizens of a changing world. Communication is a focus for the college; not communication on Facebook or Instagram - true communication where people actively listen to one another and hear one another.
The college staff and students act upon what they have been told and the focus of respect, responsibility, reverence, relationships, resilience and results guides decisions and judgments. Each person needs to widen their understanding of how others live in the world and how they interact with them. No person can stand alone. People depend on one another at school, in home life and in the community. This is where gratitude is truly defined.
