In celebration of the 150th birthday, Austinmer Public School is selling wall tiles so parents and the community can have their names engraved on them.
To also mark the occasion, the P&C will release a commemorative book and are calling on past students to provide information about their years at the school.
Principal Paul Petersen said, “Every child attending any NSW Public School is a very fortunate child indeed...those attending Austinmer Public School even more so!
“I am very proud to be a part of a wonderful educational team that serves the Austinmer community. Here we believe that all the students who attend Austinmer Public School have a right to enjoy their learning and their time at our school.
“With that as a basis, we have established an ethic that puts every individual student at the forefront of our work in the school.

“At Austinmer Public School our teachers genuinely care for their students and provide teaching skills second to none. This combined with the dedicated professionalism of all our staff means that we have created a very powerful learning environment.”
Primary learning includes whole-class, group and individual activities designed to develop an inquiring mind and teach basic learning skills needed for schooling and later life.
Kindergarten to Year 6 focus on six key learning areas: English, mathematics, science and technology, human society and its environment, personal development, health and physical education, and creative arts.
Literacy and numeracy are the building blocks of learning so English and mathematics take up half of students' learning time in primary school.
Underpinned by best educational practice, the students of Austinmer Public School are now using personalised individual ‘Goal Setting to Articulate’ their own learning journeys.
The school is also embarking on a new whole school Kindy to Year 6 dedicated mathematics pedagogy across the school.
The school offers special needs, health, safety, financial support and much more.
Activities include sport and physical education, arts, public speaking, scholarships, leadership, debating and other activities such as a spelling bee.
