Ross Eggleton could not put an accurate number on the crowd but said it was the biggest festival yet.
“There are 30 plus venues and all were packed over the weekend. There were so many people here on Saturday night it reminded me of New Orleans. It just seems to be working so well now. It is so good for the town. It jumps all weekend. A lot of people were very interested in a new mural that was painted in one of the laneways by Mikey Freedom. It has a jazz theme and is about 50 metres long. It is unbelievable,” he said.
Hot Potato were a huge hit with a 70 metre long six people wide conga line following them up and down Terralong Street. Mr Eggleton was presented with a painting in recognition of his 14 years work as festival music director as planning begins for 2018.
“The jazz and blues festival is the biggest cultural event in Kiama,” Mr Eggleton said.
