The Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute is encouraging women working in health and medical research. For International Women’s Day IHMRI presented Kelly Lambert with the Dame Bridget Ogilvie Clinical Excellence Award for outstanding contribution to a clinical practice by an early to mid-career female researcher. She is a clinical dietitian at Wollongong Hospital and an active member of the renal unit at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. She is presently enrolled in a PhD sponsored by the ISLHD/UOW Clinical PhD Scholarship Program and is investigating early recognition of cognitive impairment in renal patients. She was recognised because the translation of her research is improving care of patients with chronic kidney disease.
