Rockfield Park, on Kangaroo Valley Rd, was rejected by Shoalhaven City Council and the Joint Regional Planning Panel in 2015. Among the reasons was that a function centre was prohibited under planning rules.
But developer Camberlee Investments has appealed to the Land and Environment Court, having substituted a 300-seat restaurant for the function centre in the new revised plan.
Resident Fred Owen said this was larger than the function centre, with an extra 150 capacity at the bar.
“Nothing changes – in the process the floor plan has been increased by 12 per cent allowing a larger capacity of patrons,” he said.
He said that with accommodation for only 84 people and no public transport, drink driving would be likely as people sought other accommodation.
