Local rock ledges fished well over the weekend, especially those protected from the pounding southerly swell with a wide range of species seeking shelter from the seas.

Lightly-weighed prawns saw some big stud bream, drummer, snapper and even luderick come home for the table.

The northern facing ledges were not too bad for the experienced rock hoppers.

However, if it looks too big and you find yourself double guessing, it’s far better to go home and wait it out and not risk you own life and those of the hard-working rescue services.

Meanwhile, Mark from Kiama Game wishes to remind angler of their 2017 Blowhole Game Tournament that will be held out of Kiama Harbour on April 1-2.
