And Landcare Illawarra has pulled together a spectacular lineup of speakers to feature in the ‘Put Soul in Sustainability’ talk at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre on Thursday, March 23.
Alison Mellor, Lloyd Niccol and the team from Fair Food Forager will talk about a range of issues from backyard urban sustainability, to renewable housing design and energy efficiency, to making responsible consumer choices in our day to day lives.
“This event is a great opportunity to showcase what is happening locally, yet has ripple effects across the globe,’’ Landcare co-ordinator Megan Rowlatt said.
“People will be able to walk away from the evening re-thinking the way they live their day-to-day lives, as well as gain a greater awareness of what is happening in our community and globally.
“Talking Landcare events aim to spark discussion and thinking around sustainability issues we not only face on the ground, but all around us.’’
Firs speaker Alison Mellor, and her partner have been on an adventure in sustainable living in suburban Wollongong since 2007.
Passionate about sharing ideas and information about how to change a typical suburban house into a healthy, sustainable home, Mellor shares stories about their sustainability adventures on-line. Building systems innovation specialist Lloyd Niccol will present about a variety of projects focused on sustainability in the built environment. The team behind the Fair Food Forager App and Blog will also speak at the event starting at 6pm. Contact Megan Rowlatt on coordinator@landcareillawarra.org.au or 0499 027 770.
