The region’s trainers have five qualifiers from a possible nine spots after heats at Wyong, Hawkesbury and Gosford.
Robert and Luke Price lead the way with two runners already in the field.
Noble Joey took out the opening heat at Wyong before Budderoo Knight’s spot in the field was sealed with a second placing at Hawkesbury. Michelle Ritchie’s Better Not Blue (Wyong) is also set for his second tilt at the series final.
Leading trainer Gwenda Markwell got her first runner in the decider when Pomelo dominated the Gosford qualifer last Saturday, which had to be transferred to Rosehill.
Kerry Parker’s Heavenly Anna ran on well to finish runner-up in the same race and book her spot in the final which will be held on April 8.
Markwell, Paul Murray and Stephen Hill all have runners in the Kembla heat.
