Under an upgrade plan for Pop Errington Park, the council wants to replace and move the ageing, run down toilet block so that its close to the children’s play equipment and car park.
The council said the design for the new amenities block would be a “modern, wheelchair accessible, unisex facility”, which – like other newer toilets across the region – can “automatically self-clean after each use”.
Children’s cycleway signage will be installed along renewed pathways, and extra bins, bubblers, seats and dispensers for dog poo bags will be installed.
The amenities block will be constructed during 2018 financial year. The council has not indicated a budget for the upgrade, but in the past, the self-cleaning “Exeloo” facilities have cost upwards of $750,000.
The council is taking public feedback on the park plan until April 10.
